LAST TIME AT ANAHEIM

CCI Real Estate are one of the top authorities on the subject of making money with Mobile Home Parks, and our reputation continues grows and expands into new areas. We were recently invited by the fine folks at Real Estate Investment Expo (REI Expo) to be guest speakers at their first-ever Expo in Anaheim CA, on the subject of Mobile Home Parks. They’ve been doing these expos for a number of years now, in 4 locations across the country, with dozens of guest speakers speaking on a variety of real estate investment-related subjects. We were the first ever to talk about investing in Mobile Home Parks. The Anaheim REI Expo was in November of 2013, and being their first event on the West Coast, it was attended by around 150 investors who paid $149 to be there for the weekend event. So they were pretty serious.

AT THE GAYLORD TEXAN

REI is based in Dallas TX and this is appropriately their biggest event of the year. This is their 4th annual here in “The Big D”, and the attendance was somewhere north of 1,200 people. It was held at the stunning Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center in Grapevine TX, about 20 miles from Dallas, on the weekend of Saturday & Sunday, January 25 & 26, 2014. The Gaylord is nothing short of amazing, with it’s enormous glass-domed indoor terrarium with rivers, waterfalls, bridges, quaint little western villages and more. What a spot! One entire end of the complex is made up of their huge convention center, and that’s where this year’s REI Expo took place.

All during the 2-day event, real estate investors, new and old alike, roamed the exhibit hall going from booth to booth, learning about everything from buying mortgage notes to investing in property tax liens. We were there to talk about Mobile Home Parks, of course. And all weekend long, we were fairly swamped with people dying to know more. Very few people know very much about Mobile Home Park investing, as it turns out. And so we were very popular. We met a lot of nice folks.

REI EXPO - OUR CLASS
The main purpose of our attending was to be guest speakers during one of their ‘break-out seminars’ on Sunday morning of the event. We filled the room with interested investors dying to know more, and we covered a variety of subjects relevant to the Mobile Home Park business, wrapping it all up in about an hour.

REI EXPO - THE BOTTOM LINE
The bottom line is that it’s not very hard to find a Mobile Home Park for sale, they’re everywhere, all over the internet. But being successful in this business starts with buying the right park, then setting up a plan for that park that will work, then implementing that plan. The main focus is always on management, as this is the key to success in the Mobile Home Park business. We explained how and why, when someone buys a park, the income will often go down before it levels off, then starts to rise again. We talked about the secrets to making a Mobile Home Park really perform. And the people loved it. It was standing-room-only in our classroom, and we were told later that it was not only the best-attended session of the weekend, but also got the best reviews. Always nice to hear.

FUTURE REI EXPOS & OTHER EVENTS
CCI Real Estate plans to continue our affiliation with REI Expo, although they have two more stops this year before they come back to Anaheim. They also have events in Chicago and Baltimore MD. We’ll let you know the dates as soon as we do. We also hold our own events, which we call Real Estate Investor Conferences, usually somewhere in Northern California, where we are based. We’ll announce the date and location of our next Conference very soon.
